Oklahoma City Zoo

We went with Brian's parents to meet up with Brian's sister Jenny and Larkin's cousin Sierra in Oklahoma City for a long weekend. We went to the Oklahoma City Zoo and were impressed. The animals have a lot of room and privacy, relatively speaking. I don't have many pictures of the animals, but I have a lot of cute ones from around the zoo. It was a fun day.

Annual Hittle Pumpkin Carving Party

We held our mostly-annual Pumpkin Carving Party again this year and had a great time. We had over 40 friends and family there and the weather could not have cooperated better. The kids were able to play inside, out on the deck, in the basement, wherever. We had 2 huge tables of carving going on. Here are a couple of pictures of everyone in action.

Here are the finished pumpkins on display on our deck!

And, best of all, here are the group shots I love to get. One of all the kiddos and one of everyone! It was a great party and I can't wait until next year!

Pink Pumpkin

For anyone who has read the Halloween story "Pinkalicious and the Pink Pumpkin" will enjoy (and understand) this post. We decided that we wanted to have a pink pumpkin, just like Pinkalicious did. So, we bought a white pumpkin (kinda cool, isn't it?) and we painted it pink just like Mr. Pink did in the story! We decorated it and enjoyed it the entire season. Fun!

Hank's Pumpkintown

We had a really fun day in the Hampton's with Larkin's cousins (Karen's sister's family). We went to Hank's Pumpkintown! The kids started out by playing on the wooden structures - there were tons of them, the coolest being the airplane and the pirate ship.

Then, it was time for checking out the pumpkin patch! The pumpkins were pretty big.

Poor Lukie stepped in a rotten pumpkin! It was pretty disgusting and we all tried to stifle a laugh, but it was hard. Nobody knew what to do until I remember some wipes I had in my bag. Phew!

Then it was time for the hayride through the corn fields.

And, finally, the highlight of the visit was the face painting. Larkin became a "princess" and Gavin and Luke became the scariest face of all... a snake! Larkin loved admiring herself in the mirror. She was enraptured by her face! So cute!
